ANALOGWARE

Some things have to be handled by hand. Loading the film, finding focus, winding the shutter. Analogware is a record of those hands.

Every photograph here came through a roll of film, thirty-six presses of the shutter, a lab, a few days of waiting. At the moment of shooting, none of them could be seen.

Photographs today appear the instant they are taken and vanish if they disappoint. Film is the opposite. Each frame is spared, the result is waited for, and the failures stay. The slowness is how time gets into the picture.

When a roll ends, a chapter gets written. The rolls pile up, and the piled-up rolls remain here.
